Second great experience at Jim’s Auto Body on North Main! I was referred here by my Subaru dealership (across the street from Jim’s) a couple years ago when I was rear-ended, and they did a fantastic job and were very easy to work with.\n\nAfter camping, noticed some scratches on my car and brought it in, prepared for a long, expensive cleanup… I worked with Kirk, who got my car all fixed up much faster than I expected, was quite reasonable on price, and it looks amazing! He clearly cares about customer service and I will definitely be back for any future needs. I highly recommend Jim’s (and am so glad Subaru sent me across the street to them).
I had a head on collision with my car and Jim’s Auto Body was recommended to me on NextDoor.com as well as my insurance company. My claim’s manager first sent me to Cook’s Collision, whom told me I could bring my car in but it would sit for a month. I hate driving rental cars that long and Cook’s Collision didn’t impress with with their public feedback. I did find Jim’s Auto Body and they were able to see me for a consult two days later and take my car that Monday, while having it complete on Thursday. They even detailed the car. It looks better than ever. And it was so convenient that Enterprise Rental Car was a one minute walk away. \n\nI’m not going to say they’re inexpensive. They’re efficient. They get the job done correctly but my damage caused them to replace the front bumper. It is a body shop and dents are pricey. But you really get what you pay for. \n\nOr what your insurance pays for. Whichever instance.
This was my second time to Jim’s in three years. I think they are excellent and do such quality work and they are very good about keeping in touch and updating you on your car. Work was completed on time. Also they clean your car before they have you pick it up and they did the most beautiful job. None of the car washes around clean your car like they do. I just wish I could take it in just for cleaning!
I took my 2017 GMC Terrain in to have the driver’s door repaired from a little battle I had with a concrete pillar. They were able to work the dents out, painted and got it back to me very quickly. I dropped it off on a Sunday afternoon, and it was ready by Thursday.\n This is not the first time I’ve used this business for auto body repair. I had two other incidents where someone else struck my vehicle, and used them for my insurance-funded repairs. In all cases, they were courteous and efficient. Their work is impeccable and service is excellent.\n I would recommend them highly.
With the frustrations of dealing with my first car accident just right before a vacation, I was not in any particular good mood. \n\nAngry due to the other insurance company, and being told that I may have to pay my deductible, did not make me a very happy client. I took out my aggression out on Kenny Heumann, who remained polite, courteous, and professional. \n\nI’d highly recommend working with Kenny, as few can have an angry client/customer and still be as courteous as he was with me. \n\nAfter bringing my car up front, we did a walk around of my newly detailed car. Checked for any imperfections, which he personally hand buffed the two minor spots. \n\nPros: \nAwesome customer experience. \nWork was quick. \nChecked my car with me during the walk around. \nDetailed the outside of the car. \nFilled my gas tank with gas. \nGives you warranty and other information in a handy packet.
My first experience with Jim’s Auto Body was a five stars plus experience. Perry was an awesome auto body advisor. Recently I took my truck back and I got an estimate from Perry once again and I got a reasonable price quote on my damaged truck. I called to book an appointment and I was told I could bring it in the following morning which was awesome. I then received a call back from Perry saying that there was a mistake in the estimate from $850 to $1300. It was probably an over site but at my expense even though it felt like your basic \”bait and switch.\” It’s a big bummer because I really wanted to do business again with these guys.
I went to this place after a car accident. A man estimated the damages to my vehicle. Then told the insurance company that mechanical damages from the car accident were not caused by the accident. \nThe man has no mechanical skills or knowledge. He specializes in body work but has literally no knowledge on the mechanics of a car, so him talking about it to the insurance company was out of line.\nThe insurance company obviously did not listen to the man, but it still rubbed me the wrong way.\nThe appraiser is an absolute joke and for that reason, I can’t recommend anyone to go here.
My repair was covered under insurance claim and I was given the option to have the repair work done at Jim’s or Cooks Collision. After reading the many negative comments on Yelp about Cooks, I chose Jim’s. \n\nVery happy with my experience at Jim’s. Staff is very professional, courteous, helpful and extremely accommodating. My car was repaired to my satisfaction and completed a day sooner than originally promised. Also conveniently located two doors away from Enterprise Car Rental for easy pick up/drop off of my rental during the repair. Jim’s does offer shuttle service which I didn’t need.\n\nI would definitely use Jim’s for future repairs and highly recommend.
I got rear ended and the person who rear ended me’s insurance company gave me a choice between Jim’s, Cooks, and Mike’s. I had a bad experience with Cooks, so I opted for Jim’s. \n\nI arrived at Jim’s early one morning, checked in and got no look of recognition from the cold receptionist when I told her my name, despite me calling their office the day before to confirm that they had my claim on file, which they said they did. She then had problems locating my file in her binders but said my name sounded familiar. In the meantime, she had me wait and offered me refreshments. Music in the office ranges from Clapton to soft rock radio. There are nonni’s dark chocolate biscotti, coffee in pots, tea, water jug, and sodas in mini fridge. I waited about 20 minutes until they finished the estimate. Tom presented me with the info and let me know when to come back. He never introduced himself formally to me, moderately friendly, and short with his communication. \n\nThe rest of my dealings with Jim’s yielded a similar experience… cold receptionist (including a miscommunication regarding whether or not I could wax my bumper… clearly, I misunderstood what she was trying to communicate and she did not correct me. I confirmed the information with my service contact, who thank goodness, was much clearer and friendlier), short and business like dealings with my contact for the service (including a phone call where I said hello? for about 10 seconds before receiving some sort of greeting on the other line).\n\nPros: easy to get a rental car through Hertz and drop it off at Jim’s when I retrieved my car, on time with the estimate that was given to me, and they almost fully corrected a dent that was in my car before the accident (a dent that was not fixed by Cooks).\n\nI’ll try Mike’s if I ever get rear ended again, just to avoid the receptionist here, who was consistently unfriendly.
Sad to say The Bearmobile had to visit Jim’s! However, once they took over, the experience was painless and smooth. Jim’s did a fairly good job of keeping me up-to-date with progress and the work was first-class. The cool little coffee mug that was waiting in my cup holder was a classy touch! Five stars – but don’t take it personal when I say \”hope I never come there again\” LOL!\n\nUPDATE: In the weeks since the repair work, an annoying rattle developed in the door that was part of the work. Dana Auld, an estimator at Jim’s, responded to my email immediately, and even arranged for the technician who did the repair work to come in on Saturday, the only day I could make the trip to Walnut Creek.\n\nThe tech smartly tracked down the offending loose screw and voil\u00e0 – rattle over! Thank you Jim’s! Wish I could give you more stars!
Today i had the most horrible experience with this auto body shop . My car was sent there by Progressive i s. Company in Jan. 2017 early April i noticed that my trim was missing and my bumper was seperating. I was instructed to bring my car in and now they are refusing to stand by there poor poor poor workmanship. I would never recomend this auto body shop to anyone they have horrible customer service and terrible workmanship
Jims Auto body is the Bomb.\n\nI send my in law James De Voe to the shop for a windshield and structure repair because his Honda Accord was parked under a huge tree and the branches fell off and damaged his car.\nThe quote was very fair. Service excellent, fast, painless.\nI will recommend all my friends to come to Jims auto body when they need help with car bodywork.\n\nI am giving Jims auto body 6 stars for their overall service and attention.\n\nYou rock!
I got rear ended the other day. The insurance company for the person who hit me asked if I would go to Jim’s auto body. So I decided to go by in my own car to discuss bringing in my wife car. As I was pulling in I was getting a telephone call. I stopped in the parking lot. Maybe 5 cars there. Clearly not a lot of traffic. The estimator came out and came over to my car and i put my window down and she asked me if I was coming into the facility. I said just one minute, I’m on a call. She turned away and said get the hell out of here. I said I actually was coming in and she clearly did not believe it. She started making comments and I said you are a real bitch. She then looked at me and said I have a more expensive Mercedes then you. What shocked me is she would make that kind of comment to a customer. What shocked me even more is she said thats my Mercedes. I saw she had a GL 450 or maybe a GL 350 suv. I happen to be driving a Mercedes S class convertible. The price of my car was $183k. Her price maybe 80K. So clearly did not know her cars. The owner then returned my call. Was a nice guy but clearly naive. I said how the heck would I know what kind of car she drove. I personally would never go there. The estimator is a jerk and clearly doesn’t have a clue about cars.
This review is based on Customer Service alone. I was in a car accident and Jim’s is a preferred body shop of my insurance company that is close to my house so that’s why we chose them.\n\nAfter being there for two days our estimator called my husband (who didn’t drop off the car and was not involved in the accident) and asked about the damage and said that it was from an old incident.\n\nMy husband left me a voicemail regarding the conversation and I called the estimator back.\n\nThe individual I spoke to ACCUSED me of lying about the accident stating that the accident couldn’t have happened like I said it did. He then said that my husband gave him a different account of the accident. I was confused and informed him that my husband wasn’t even involved so I don’t know why he would even say that. I called my husband after I completed the call and my husband said that was a complete lie.\n\nNeedless to say we are having our insurance company move our car to a different collision shop.\n\nTL;DR – Horrible experience, would not recommend and would never return.
