US Post Office Walnut Creek ca 94598
This is an example of going above and beyond. \”John\” is a hero at this office, I arrive at 5:25 not realizing they closed at 5:00. Who closes retail at 5:00pm? Also the ac doesn’t seem to work at this location but this is about John not the usps office. John not only helped me pick up my package late but he was kind and help several others that walked in. It’s so nice that in this day and age someone goes a little extra to help out. If every employee was as dedicated as John the world would be a happy place. Thank you for making my day John.
I think I know who all the bad customer service comments are about. \n\nI went to this post office to pick up a package. Went to the counter and was greeted sorta matter of factly by a middle aged, cold robotic Asian lady. \n\nI was the first one to say hi and she asked what I needed. Politely explained I needed a package I missed. She grabbed the slip without a word, took a few minutes, and came back. If I remember correctly it was something like this: you must sign. Period. After I signed, she just stared at me. I stared at her too. A few seconds passed and I must’ve lifted an eye brow. After the staring contest was getting boring to her, she said \”Don’t you want package?\” \n\nThe whole time I was thinking like something was supposed to happen. Perhaps a thank you to confirm I was done with the robotic customer service session. Or a \”ok it went through, here’s your package.\” Nothing. \n\nEh, I should expect nothing less. I got my package, right? \n\nI miss my Rancho Cucamonga USPS down in So Cal.
I have been going to this USPS for almost a year now and it has improved (cust service) since then. I think the staff has changed for the better and as a result a pleasant experience overall. I remember availing the invite to participate in cust satisfaction survey on your receipt, I guess USPS is listening to their customers….\n\nThis location NOW is one of the nicer, clean facility that offers PO Box services and good/fast/friendly staff….The parking lot is not so big it shares with a lot of other businesses you might have to park a little far around busy time
I prefer going to this USPS over the one in downtown. The lines are very hit or miss, but for the past few times I have gone, the line and wait has been pretty short. Plus, there’s always the self-service machine that rarely has people in line. The employees have been there for years – they don’t always put on the friendliest faces, but they definitely get the job done and have always been helpful. \nPlus, parking is ample, as it is located in a shopping center. I’ve always been able to find parking right in front of the USPS if not the row behind it.
OMG I finally encountered the cold robotic Asian lady. I only came by to pick up a flat rate box which they failed to replenish on the shelf. I politely asked her if they have any more and she gave me that mean scowl and told me to get in the back of the long line. Thank goodness there was another lady (also asian) who saved my day (thus the 3 stars instead of 1). I feel so weird having to identify people by ethnicity \n\nHoping one of the supervisors read our reviews so they can coach their employees for success.
SLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW, I could tell by the expression on the ladies face in front of me. There was another employee there, I guess she was just checking stamps??? Then when my turn was over a women behind me mentioned that they need more people working there. Like most places that are government employees, the saying goes ‘Hurry up and wait.’
This is the slowest office ever!! Do not come here. The lady in the counter takes her time. I’ve been here 15 min. One 2 people in front of me which are now bffs because of all the time we are waiting in line. The lady in the counter talks slow, moves slow, and is taking her sweet time and everyone is complaining. She’s even handing out the money really slow!!!
The list of places you most hate visiting (in no particular order):\n\n-Post office\n-DMV\n-Dentist\n-Doctor\n\nHowever, this post office is not too bad. Line lengths are generally hit or miss, I’ve been going during lunch and it’s been pretty reasonable. There’s only two attendants inside but they try to get you in and out and actually help and are very pleasant to boot. On my particular visit today, one of the workers (who was supposed to go on break and had the \”Next Window Please\” sign up after helping someone) actually stayed to help a few more customers while the other worker was in the back looking something up. He even gave the person in front of me a free tube they could put a future package in to avoid it being damaged in transit. How often does that happen? The parking lot has a lot of space, and a bunch of other useful amenities within the plaza (Chase, BevMo). Close to my work and fast…hallelujah.
This small Post Office Station on Ygnacio Valley has a large parking lot (shared with the plaza) and they are open for self-service postage and letter drop off all week long. \n\nThere is no place to deposit a package on weekends. I had a small parcel that needed to be shipped but had no place to put it. I eventually thought it’d be a good idea to see if it fit in the blue boxes out front. However, this was not a good idea, and the package got stuck. I couldn’t even get it out. I came back the next day and it was gone so I guess they do check their boxes for things like this, but I felt pretty stupid about it.\n\nThe self-service machines will print out forever postage for you ($0.49 each), but it’s just a plain white sticker – no fancy, cute picture options.
Went there this morning because on Saturdays at the main branches there are long lines and few windows open. So I decided to try here, long line, one person at one window, one person in and out at the other window and one person walking through. Now with a line that long, someone should open another window. The individual at the open window was struggling, counting and recounting what ever was being sold to the customer at the window. The person in front of me said this is why I do everything I can online. I agree, I use to use 3 books of stamps a month, now I use 5 books a year. The Automated Postal Center doesn’t work either.
The post office is conveniently located in the Nob Hill shopping center where there is ample parking. \n\nThis is one of the post office branches that happens to be open Saturdays from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. When we stopped in around 10:30 they weren’t busy at all. \n\nThey do have a passport office but it is not open on Saturdays.
I much prefer this location to the branch on Broadway. It’s cleaner, less crowded and has an overall friendlier vibe. It has lots of counter space to label or finish packing your parcels and a brighter lobby space. Lots of free parking in this shopping center, so that you’re not fighting for a space like the other post office in Walnut Creek. The postal workers here seem to be a bit sharper and happier to help. Ahh-a breath of fresh air for your postal needs in the WC!
This is by far the most pleasant USPS post office I have ever been to. Typically just 2 windows open, but hey, that is about the same as the broadway location, which is much much more busy.\n\nThe ladies and the guy here have always been helpful and patient. And really good attitude. Once I was even came after the doors were closed, and they guy there helped me out anyway.\n\nLots and lots of parking.\n\nIf you live in the Walnut Creek area, avoid the broadway location and come here instead. Until I found this place I was paying extra and using postal annex type places.\n\nBEST USPS EVER.
Stupid me. I thought today would be the day I could go in here and get out in five minute. What an idiot I am.\n\nI carry a big package from my work on my break. It’s 9:05 on a Weds morning. There’s 8 people in front of me. As usual, ONE person behind the counter. The next person walks up. She’s got a postal basket full of manilla envelopes. About 60-70 of them. Each one has to be weighed and stamped separately. This is a 25-30 minute project. You hear a collective sigh from the other 7 people in line.\n\nDoes the lady behind the counter get help? Why would she? She’s got to be there whether it’s one person for 30 minutes or 8 people for 30 minutes. She couldn’t care less. So I stand there like a moron for 12 minutes because I don’t want to have to lug this package all the way back to the office. Everyone in line can hear people laughing and goofing off in the back of the post office. Does anyone come up to the counter? Nope. That would require \”customer service\” and that can’t be done when they can goof off in the back.\n\nI realize at this point, even if someone does come up at this point, it’s going to be 10-15 minutes minimum to handle the people in front of me and I’ve already exhausted my break (I will be late getting back). 2 people behind me have already left in frustration and finally I do. \n\nNever again. I’m switching all my bills to electronic pay. From now on any packages go Fedex. I will never give the US Postal service a dime. There has been all this worry the last few years about the post office going under because of the internet. It’s not because of the internet. It’s because these idiots don’t have the phrase \”customer service\” in their vocabulary. I have always been a strong supporter of the USPS. No more. This was the absolute last straw. I hope it goes under. \n\nThis particular post office is the WORST run post office in the east bay. If you live near this one, it would be quicker for you to go to whereever the next one is, than go into this one and stand in line for 30 minutes. Good riddance post office.\n\nNote: I am going to find all the upper management emails of the USPS I can find and forward them this review.
