Welcome everyone Mike from Low Rate Locksmith. today I have something to share with you unique to Lexus and I don’t want you to get thrown off if you’re ever faced with programming one of these and what I’m referring to is Lexus in the early years had a key called the wallet key which actually was a great idea but it fell out of favor eventually and was discontinued but if you run into one I don’t want you to be thrown off by it it’s easy to program.

I’m going to show you in just a moment but we’re going to start with looking at Josh Keith’s transponder book because our example vehicle today is going to be a 2005 Lexus ES 330 and you can see right here from Josh’s section – he has 2004 to 2006 Lexus ES 330 uses a 4 D 68 master chip. Not to be confused with the 4 D 67 that’s in a Toyota key do not use that chip it will not work so we need the 40 68.

The reason I’m pointing this out is because some of these wallet keys, I’m going to show that to you right now some of these wallet keys did not include a chip some of the earlier versions of it now right here there is actually a hidden plastic cover that you can remove to insert your chip.

If it does not have one so if your customer presented one of these or you have one in stock just make sure that you have masks or four d68 tip inside of this wallet key itself and this arrow is the area that’s going to point towards the ignition.

So the programming is very simple it’s just the same thing is if you were to program in any type to Lexus Toyota vehicle in other words you’ll put it in learn mode by doing the quick reset light will go solid.  That’s your verification. It’s in learn mode and then you simply will be in the off position hold this arrow right up close to the ignition so that it will store just like a regular master key that you would insert for five seconds in the off position then to lose out the learn mode if this is the only key that you want then obviously you would cycle the emergency key six to eight times ending in the off position light should extinguish and that will program in the master key ship in the wallet key itself.  And then you would just insert this into the wallet key give it to the customer and they would put it in their wallet for safekeeping in the event they ever lose their regular master key there are instructions right here on the actual wallet key on how to use it so it’s very simple don’t get thrown off if you present it with one and that is my message today I hope you found this helpful and I look forward to seeing you in the next Explenation.
